I watched season 1 and 2 years ago, then put it on the back burner. FINALLY getting back into it, and absolutely powering through the remainder of the seasons (which is in IMO the best way to watch a good series). Some shows tend to plateau once you’ve ‘discovered’ the fairly one-dimensional characters, then all that’s left is an endless and arbitrary shifting of plot lines to try and maintain your interest. However this show is different, and the key to it lies in its incredible character development, and how the writers allow each character to slowly and purposefully unfold and reveal themselves. In this way it has a kind of “Six Feet Under” vibe: nothing incredibly dramatic ever happens, but there’s a tension and an undercurrent of darkness that makes it so damn engaging.
